Peter and the Wolf

“I first saw a horn when I attended a performance of Peter and the Wolf. At the end of the concert, when the “wolves” (three horns) demonstrated their instruments, I fell in love. When the TSO performs concerts for children, I remember how profoundly these concerts could influence their lives—a lifelong love of listening to music could begin when they hear these new sounds. In some cases, it could even turn into a career!”

Angela Hewitt Plays Mozart

“I attended my first TSO Concert performed by Angela Hewitt in February 2022, where she performed Bach’s Keyboard Piano Concerto No. 2. and Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 12. I have been following Angela’s performances in the Toronto area, and was able to attend her performance at the 2023 Toronto Summer Music Festival. I always enjoy listening to Angela play because it’s so impressive every time. I will definitely be attending Angela Hewitt Plays Mozart in March 2025.”

“Beethoven’s Triple was one of the first pieces I performed with the TSO when I joined in 2011, and for me it feels like coming full circle doing it again with our amazing Principal Cello Joe Johnson, and Canada’s young piano superstar Jan Lisiecki! And of course, Pictures! One of the the great pieces of the orchestra literature, but this time in an unusual arrangement that is unfairly overshadowed by Ravel’s well-known version. I can’t wait to discover this piece again for the first time.”
