Peter and the Wolf
Join our musical menagerie with Peter and the Wolf, where a brave young boy and his lively animal friends are brought to life by instruments of the orchestra. Young listeners will buzz with excitement during “Flight of the Bumblebee” and encounter other delightful animal friends on this symphonic safari for little explorers and music lovers alike.
Pre-Concert Lobby Activities
Enjoy free activities an hour before the show! Try out instruments at the Instrument Discovery Zone, have fun at the Music Playground, and catch a special performance by TSO Principal Clarinet Eric Abramovitz and pianist Rachael Kerr. Performances are from 1:00pm to 1:20pm and 3:30pm to 3:50pm in the North Lobby.
Relaxed Performance Option
In addition to the performances at 1:30pm and 4:00pm we also offer a Relaxed Performance option at 11:00am. The Toronto Symphony Orchestra’s Relaxed Performances are designed for the Neurodiverse and Disability communities, and those who enjoy a more relaxed concert setting created for comfort and inclusivity. Performers
Daniel Bartholomew-Poyser
A passionate communicator, Daniel Bartholomew-Poyser brings clarity and meaning to the concert hall, fostering deep connections between audiences and performers. He is concurrently the Principal Youth Conductor and Creative Partner of the National Arts Centre Orchestra, the Barrett Principal Education Conductor & Community Ambassador of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, Artist in Residence and Community Ambassador of Symphony Nova Scotia, and Resident Conductor of Engagement and Education of the San Francisco Symphony.
Bartholomew-Poyser has conducted the New York Philharmonic, Houston Symphony, Carnegie Hall Link Up orchestra, Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, Calgary Philharmonic, Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, Vancouver Symphony, Regina Symphony Orchestra, Canadian Opera Company, and National Symphony Orchestra, and is the Music Director of the Kennedy Center Summer Music Institute. He served as Assistant Conductor of the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony and Associate Conductor of the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra, and was Cover Conductor with the Washington National Opera.
Host of the CBC’s nationally broadcast weekly radio show Centre Stage, Bartholomew-Poyser was also the subject of an award-winning, full-length CBC documentary called Disruptor Conductor, focusing on his concerts for Neurodiverse, prison, African Diaspora, and LGBTQ2S+ populations.
Bartholomew-Poyser earned his Bachelor of Music degree in performance and education from the University of Calgary, and his Master of Philosophy degree in performance from the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, England.
