“Toronto feels like coming home,” Barbara Hannigan told radio host Kathleen Kajioka on Sunday Night at the TSO with New Classical FM.
Hannigan, who was born in Nova Scotia, is a conductor, soprano, contemporary music icon, and old friend to the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. She reminisces on learning some of the basics of orchestra life in the beginning of her career with TSO staff and musicians.
On May 19 and 21, she will take the stage alongside Music Director Gustavo Gimeno to perform back-to-back world premières from Canadian composers, plus spine-tingling Stravinsky selections.
