Sir Andrew Conducts Fauré’s Requiem

Wed, Nov 8–Sat, Nov 11, 2023 Roy Thomson Hall

Toronto Symphony Orchestra Conductor Laureate Sir Andrew Davis leads the weekend performances in honour of Remembrance Day, which include a Canadian Première commission by composer Ed Frazier Davis. The Sturm und Drang and minor key of Mozart’s Symphony No. 40 cavorts between rhythmic energy and sombre tragedy, and Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem offers prayerful, harmonious redemption, lifted by the voices of the Amadeus Choir.
