Timothy Chooi Is One of Canada’s Brightest Stars

November 1, 2021

Timothy Chooi joins the TSO and Peter Oundjian* (for his first return to the TSO as Conductor Emeritus), November 24–28. Timothy will be playing one of the most famous pieces for violin ever written, Tchaikovsky’s magnificent Violin Concerto.

Timothy sends his personal greetings to Toronto audiences:

Timothy has had an incredible fall season; on October 1, he made his Amsterdam Concertgebouw début (playing Mendelssohn’s equally formidable concerto), followed by three weeks touring Europe with the legendary Anne-Sophie Mutter and her Mutter Virtuosi, playing the Tchaikovsky.

Before coming to see him live at the TSO, take a few minutes to enjoy this brief interview with Timothy and luxuriate in the music videos of him playing everything from Bach and Bruch to John Williams and Banjo and Fiddle by Kroll.

*Peter Oundjian's appearance is generously supported by Joyce Gutmann.

Come see Timothy Chooi with Conductor Emeritus Peter Oundjian in Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto, November 24 & 25 and November 27 & 28 in Roy Thomson Hall. Don’t forget, the November 24 performance is also offered as a TSO Live Stream.
