A Look ahead at the TSYO’s Titan Concert
For the last 50 years, the Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra (TSYO) has been dedicated to providing a high-level orchestral experience for talented young musicians aged 22 and under. The tuition-free TSYO program delivers a unique, powerful, and life-enriching opportunity that encourages significant achievement, regardless of the career path participants choose to pursue. The high crest of the ensemble’s 50th anniversary season is the Titan concert on April 27—a uniquely composed program featuring Mahler’s titanic Symphony No. 1, a piece by Shostakovich alongside a bassoon concerto. For our ongoing Symphony City series, TSO RBC Resident Conductor Trevor Wilson — set to take the baton as the TSYO Conductor next season — joined us to talk about Titan.
