Introducing Patrick O’Herron

The TSO welcomes its new VP of Marketing and Communications on July 4, 2022

The TSO is delighted to welcome Patrick O’Herron as its new Vice President of Marketing & Communications after a search led by Arts Consulting Group. Patrick begins his position on July 4, 2022.

Patrick comes to the TSO from the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra (BPO) where he served as Vice President, Marketing & Communications for four years. Prior to the BPO, Patrick held leadership roles in marketing and communications for the national arts service organization Americans for the Arts, and for the largest privately-funded arts program in the world, Arts Brookfield, the arts and events initiative of global real estate corporation Brookfield Properties.

At the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, Patrick will be part of the Senior Management Group, reporting to CEO, Mark Williams, and will manage teams devoted to marketing, sales, design, communications, ticketing operations, and patron services.

Patrick O’Herron comes to the Toronto Symphony Orchestra from the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra (BPO) where he served as Vice President, Marketing & Communications for four years. Under his marketing and sales leadership, the BPO expanded its digital footprint, including website and e-commerce development, and achieved record earned revenue levels. Prior to the BPO, Patrick held leadership roles in marketing and communications for the national arts service organization Americans for the Arts, and for the largest privately-funded arts program in the world, Arts Brookfield, the arts and events initiative of global real estate corporation Brookfield Properties.

Growing up in the Southern Finger Lakes Region of New York State, O’Herron excelled in the arts, performing in local choral and theatre productions and the Youth Orchestra of the Southern Finger Lakes as a flutist. Early in his professional career, Patrick toured the world as a featured singer for Regent Seven Seas Cruises, Oceania Cruises, and Carnival Cruise Lines.

Patrick holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from James Madison University in Virginia, and a Master of Arts in Arts Management from the University at Buffalo.

His frequent visits to Toronto and the TSO over the past four years have affirmed his strong admiration for the Orchestra. He is honoured to be part of the TSO mission and excited to make his home here with his two dogs, Toby and Fionnuala.
