Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra

Dear Music Lovers,

Thank you for taking interest in the Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra.

My name is Simon Rivard, and I have the immense pleasure of having led the Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra since 2018. For nearly fifty years, the TSYO has been providing outstanding music instruction to Toronto’s next generation of young musicians.

Our mission is to create an inclusive and accessible environment for music making at the highest possible level. Since 2015, this has manifested itself through offering the entire TSYO program free of tuition. We are very proud to be able to offer a full season of rehearsing, professional coaching, concerts and social events at no cost to musicians.

It is no secret that this past year and a half has been challenging for artists and arts organizations throughout the world, to say the least. We have been working tirelessly behind the scenes to develop an inspiring program with safety being the utmost priority, and are extremely grateful to be returning to an entirely in-person program in September. Students can look forward to live rehearsals and sectionals, with our annual camp weekend and our traditional side-by-side concert with the TSO both occurring in the first quarter of 2022.

We are all looking forward to our upcoming season. Thank you for your support of Toronto's finest up-and-coming musicians!
