Due to provincial regulations, all in-person TSO concerts through January 30 are cancelled. Ticket holders have been contacted regarding their options.
Thank you for making the TSO an essential part of young people’s education.
My name is Daniel Bartholomew-Poyser, and I’m the TSO’s Barrett Principal Education Conductor & Community Ambassador. This is now my second year leading the programs, and we have worked in concert with others to craft a season of unique, innovative, and surprising programming.
For our first offering, we are collaborating with Red Sky Performance to bring you a digital reimagining of Mistatim, Red Sky’s award-winning play about reconciliation. In November, in partnership with the Toronto Zoo, we are presenting Zoophony, a curious and musical glimpse into why animals make sound. This season, we are also joining forces with the National Arts Centre Orchestra, the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal, Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, and many other musicians across the country, to create The Great Canadian Orchestra Field Trip. Finally, to round out our School Concert season, we are bringing back past favourites such as our virtual Classroom Concerts, MTSO live streams, and SHSM workshops.
There will be more educational opportunities to come this season. Stay tuned! We look forward to being a part of young people’s learning journey.
