The TSOUNDCHECK program is one of the most successful audience-development initiatives in performing arts. Created in 2001, the TSOUNDCHECK program encourages young people to experience orchestral music with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra.
Concertgoers between the ages of 15 and 35 can register online for a free TSOUNDCHECK membership, enabling them to purchase single TSO tickets for under $20, or a TSOUNDCHECK 3Pack. Each 3Pack includes three concert tickets and a variety of subscriber benefits, including ticket exchanges and discounts at local restaurants.
With over 24,000 TSOUNDCHECK tickets being sold annually (and over 10% of the TSO’s total ticket sales coming from TSOUNDCHECK members), the TSO audience is one of the youngest and most diverse in classical music.
TSOUNDCHECK has an active and passionate membership of students and young professionals. TSOUNDCHECK volunteers assist with concerts, outreach activities, and special TSOUNDCHECK events held each season. Not only is the program an affordable way to attend the TSO, but TSOUNDCHECK has also become a place for young music lovers to interact and socialize with each other, building a community of new symphony-goers. Twice a year, the TSO hosts TSOUNDCHECK parties to thank these loyal patrons. Held in the lobby of Roy Thomson Hall following concerts, these gatherings feature Toronto-area bands performing while the audience mingles with TSO musicians and other patrons.
The Toronto Symphony Orchestra recognizes and thanks TD Bank Group for their continuing sponsorship of the TSOUNDCHECK program.
