Mira Riselli joined the Toronto Symphony Orchestra in 2021 as a Patron Services Representative and now serves as a Senior Patron Services Representative, providing ticketing concierge services to our Maestro's Club members.
Sean Priestley, who joined the Toronto Symphony Orchestra in December 2022, is the new Senior Patron Services Representative for the Friends and Impresarios Club. He assists donors with ticket requests, donor programs, and special events.
Question #1: Can you share an important skill you learned from your time in Patron Services that you'll be leaning on in your new work with our Donors?
Mira: My time in Patron Services allowed me to develop a keen attention to detail—an invaluable skill in delivering seamless and personalized experiences for our patrons. Accuracy and precision are essential when managing ticketing services, handling special requests, and nurturing strong relationships with our valued supporters. I’m excited to apply this skill in my new role to ensure every donor feels recognized and appreciated.
Sean: During my time in Patron Services, I learned to adapt my communication style to meet each individual’s needs and preferences. This skill will be essential in my work with donors, allowing me to foster stronger, more personalized relationships.
Question #2: What are you most looking forward to this season?
Mira: I’m especially excited about Lisiecki Plays Chopin. My piano teacher introduced me to his recordings when I was learning a Chopin piece as a teenager, and I’ve been a fan ever since. Plus, as a fellow Calgarian, it’s wonderful to see him on our stage! I’m also looking forward to Jeremy Dutcher. I’m a huge fan of Wolastoqiyik Lintuwakonawa, and hearing him live is a dream come true.
Sean: I can’t wait for Pops Goes to the Movies: Music of Hans Zimmer. With so many iconic scores, it’s bound to be an unforgettable performance!
Question #3: What would you share with our donors about how they make an impact?
Mira: I’d highlight our Annual Open House and Free Concert, a truly special event that allows Torontonians of all ages and backgrounds to experience the magic of the TSO completely free of charge—something made possible through donor generosity. Over the years, we’ve welcomed thousands of guests, many stepping into our concert hall for the first time.
One of the most heartwarming aspects is the range of activities for children, like the instrument petting zoo and the opportunity to compose their own music. These moments inspire curiosity and foster a lifelong love of music. By supporting these initiatives, donors bring joy to our community and ensure the TSO is a welcoming and inclusive space for all.
Sean: I couldn’t agree more. The Open House and Free Concert is such a meaningful event, bringing together first-time concertgoers and seasoned music lovers. It’s a wonderful way to connect with our community, and it wouldn’t be possible without the support of our donors. I look forward to meeting even more new faces this year!
