Mary Carol Nugent
Viola

Violist Mary Carol Nugent was born in St. John's, Newfoundland. After completing one year at Memorial University’s Department of Music, she attended the University of Toronto where she studied with Rivka Golani. Her studies also included summers at The Banff Centre with such renowned teachers as William Primrose, Lillian Fuchs, Donald McInnis, Karen Tuttle, and Ralph Aldrich. Upon graduating from U of T, Ms. Nugent played with numerous ensembles including the Amadeus Ensemble, Canadian Opera Company Orchestra, and Esprit Orchestra. It has been her privilege to be a member of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra since 1988.
Ms. Nugent makes her home in Toronto with her husband Stan, a trumpet player and business executive, and their two daughters, Sara and Molly.
