Planned Giving

The TSO Legacy Circle recognizes the generosity and vision of its donors who have provided for the future of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra through a bequest or other form of planned gift. By leaving a planned gift to the TSO or the Toronto Symphony Foundation, you become a member of the Legacy Circle and play an important role in the future of your Orchestra while establishing a personal legacy.

What is a planned gift?

For many donors, a planned gift (also known as a legacy gift) is an easy and thoughtful way to make a significant future contribution to the TSO while maintaining financial security for themselves and their family during their lifetime.

Leaving a planned gift - such as a bequest in your will, a gift of stock, or a gift of life insurance - is an excellent way to ensure the future of the TSO. It also allows you to plan future gifts to maximize tax and other advantages with a bequest or other future-gift commitment, while deepening your relationship with the TSO.

If you are currently preparing your will, you may choose to direct your gift to either the Toronto Symphony Orchestra or the Toronto Symphony Foundation.

How to become a member of the Legacy Circle

While your planned gift will be realized in the future, by letting us know of your intention to include the TSO in your estate plans, you will become a lifetime member of the Legacy Circle.

Deferred gifts, particularly bequests including cash, securities, real estate, annuities, life-insurance proceeds, RRIFs, RSPs, pensions, and gifts in kind, are all eligible.

If you wish to be acknowledged as a Legacy Circle member and receive the corresponding benefits, please confirm your gift in writing.

If you are considering leaving a bequest or deferred gift of any kind to the TSO, we strongly encourage you to speak with your professional advisor.
