The Toronto Symphony Orchestra introduces EVENING EPIC, an orchestra-sized party in support of music education
February 19, 2019
On April 4, 2019, at The Carlu, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra (TSO) introduces EVENING EPIC—a unique and unexpected evening of fantastic food and musical firsts. EVENING EPIC is a night unlike any other of the year—a party interwoven with live musical performances that delight and surprise. It brings together sights, sounds, and sensations to create an entirely new way of hearing the talented musicians of the TSO.
In its inaugural edition, EVENING EPIC features a headline performance by the 2018 Polaris Music Prize winner and JUNO-nominated artist for best Indigenous Music Album of the Year, Jeremy Dutcher, marking his first-ever collaboration with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra.
Musical moments will abound throughout, with appearances by members of the Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, and singer/musician/DJ Sandy Duperval—curated by TSO Principal Double Bass Jeffrey Beecher (also of Silk Road Ensemble fame).
EVENING EPIC is an event in support of the TSO’s education programs, which reach 40,000 young people annually, and the Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra, one of the leading youth orchestras in North America for musicians aged 22 and under.
