Why become a Maestro’s Club donor?

The Maestro’s Club is a group of dedicated philanthropists and city-builders whose generous support plays a direct part in the success of one of the world’s finest orchestras. Donations from Maestro’s Club members allow the TSO to serve our community through life-enriching performances of great orchestral music.

Maestro’s Club FAQ

What does my Maestro’s Club donation support?

Your support helps the TSO deliver a varied repertoire of exceptional music performed by musicians of the highest calibre. And you play an integral role in bringing the finest guest artists to the stage, commissioning new works, developing tomorrow’s talent through the Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra, and inspiring a passion for music through our curriculum-based School Concerts.

As a Maestro’s Club donor, you will receive periodic updates through our donor newsletter, Noteworthy, and other communications on how your support is helping your Orchestra make a difference in your city.

What is the tax-deductible amount of my donation?

Maestro’s Club donations grant you access to the Maestro's Club Lounge at all TSO and most Roy Thomson Hall performances, so the Canada Revenue Agency requires that we deduct $250 from your tax receipt for the fair-market value of Maestro's Club Lounge hospitality. You may choose to decline use of the Maestro’s Club Lounge and receive a full tax receipt.

Can I join the Maestro’s Club at any time?

Yes. The Maestro’s Club is a rolling individual-giving program, which means that you can sign up at any time of the year and will be entitled to receive donor benefits for a full calendar year starting on the date of your donation. The TSO concert season typically runs from September to June.

How can I access the Maestro's Club lounge at TSO concerts at Roy Thomson Hall?

If you purchase your concert tickets under your name and patron ID, your name will automatically be included on the Maestro’s Club Lounge guest list for the performance. You can access the lounge prior to the concert (starting one hour before the concert start time) and during intermission (where applicable) by identifying yourself by name to staff at the Maestro’s Club Lounge entrance podium. The lounge will remain open post-concert for you to retrieve any articles you may have stored in the private coat check. You may alternatively identify yourself to staff by presenting your Maestro's Club membership card.

How can I access the Maestro's Club lounge at non-TSO performances at Roy Thomson Hall?

For access to the lounge at non-TSO concerts, when applicable, please present your Maestro's Club membership card.

Can I bring guests into the Maestro's Club lounge?

All donor privileges are extended to a donor household (two people) or to a donor and their guest (max. two people) for one year from the time of your gift. Your Maestro's Club membership comes with four lounge guest passes, and each pass is good for up to two guests. Additional lounge guest passes are available exclusively for members to purchase. To for more information, please call your Maestro's Club hotline at 416.598.5380.

Can my employer match my donation?

Yes. Double the impact of your gift at no additional cost to you! Please check with your employer to see if your gift can be matched through a corporate matching-gift program.

How will I find out about Maestro’s Club donor events?

As part of your membership, you will receive communications with information about upcoming events. Many event notifications are sent via email, so please let us know if you have updated your email address.

Are there additional costs to attend donor events?

Open Rehearsals and Backstage Tours are complimentary for donors. Additional fees may apply for select events.

Tickets to TSO performances range in price depending on your age, the seat you select, and the number of tickets you purchase at one time. If you need any guidance when purchasing tickets as Maestro’s Club member, please contact the Maestro’s Club hotline at 416.598.5380.
