Interview: CEO Matthew Loden Talks About 2021/22 TSO Season

CEO Matthew Loden shares his perspective about how Music Director Gustavo Gimeno, musicians, and the TSO team are working collaboratively to approach our return to in-person performances in the 2021/22 TSO Season.

"We think that there will be a crescendo across the season for the number of patrons that can gather in the house. I expect that by the time of June 2022, we will be able to have as many people in Roy Thomson Hall as are willing to be there."—Matthew Loden

"I think it's a really ambitious program that Gustavo's put forward. It is ambitious because he wants the citizens of Toronto and the GTA to have a real sense of what fresh musical voices are out there. What Canadian composers can we hear? Also, he wants to focus on the musicians of the TSO themselves as soloists. More than any other season, we are programming a number of solo opportunities for members of the Orchestra themselves."—Matthew Loden
