The TSO Open House is your invitation to be part of something bigger.

This joyful annual tradition marks the beginning of our season and opens the doors of Roy Thomson Hall to thousands of people from across the city. It’s designed to say: this orchestra belongs to you. It’s also a signature event in our commitment to access and inclusion—bringing Torontonians of all backgrounds into the hall, many for the first time. With multilingual support, intentional community partnerships, and diverse programming, our Open House invites every corner of the city to feel at home with us in one welcoming afternoon, and positions the audience not just as guests, but as participants in the season ahead.

Enjoy music from TSO musicians and ensembles, Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra musicians, and special guests. Performances take place throughout the day in the North and South Lobbies.

Building Tours

Take a self-guided tour of Toronto’s iconic Roy Thomson Hall and experience its stunning architecture.

Tour materials are offered in English, French, Mandarin, and Cantonese.

Long & McQuade Instrument Discovery Zone

Try your hand at a number of orchestral instruments in this hands-on, all-ages musical playground.

Free TSO Concert

2:00pm (Tickets Required)

An afternoon performance featuring beloved classics and fresh new sounds, led by Gustavo Gimeno and Daniel Bartholomew-Poyser. Whether it’s your first symphony concert or your fiftieth, this is an event not to miss.

Tickets for the Free Concert have all been claimed. We encourage you to attend the Open House and join the Rush Ticket line at 12 noon. If additional tickets become available, they will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis on the day of the performance.
