Sun, Apr 16, 2023 Roy Thomson Hall

Explore the evolution of Jamaica’s most famous export, and discover the people, sounds, and stories of the musical movement that grew to influence music around the globe. Jamaican-born, Halifax-based vocalist Jah’Mila finds her groove with Barrett Principal Education Conductor and Community Ambassador Daniel Bartholomew-Poyser and the TSO in a program that reflects on the social, cultural, and spiritual importance of the magical musical genre that has shaped Jamaica and touched the world.

Plus, join us for pre-concert lobby activities included in the price of your ticket. Coming to us all the way from The Rose Brampton, we have a special performance by the multi-talented youth orchestra, the Rosebuds!
