Oundjian Conducts The Planets
Fasten your seatbelts and blast off to the stars with Holst’s sonic, celestial showpiece, which vividly portrays each planet’s astrological persona, from menacing Mars to jolly Jupiter and beyond. TSO Principal Clarinet Eric Abramovitz and Bass Clarinet Miles Jaques take centre stage for Mendelssohn’s sunny Konzertstück No. 2. Conductor Emeritus Peter Oundjian returns to lead these performances, which begin with Rossini’s delightful Overture to La gazza ladra and feature Coleridge-Taylor's Ballade in A Minor.
There's a free pre-concert performance by the TSO Chamber Soloists before the Thursday, November 10 performance. See the TSO Camber Soloists page for more information.
