Mozart’s Haffner Symphony
Kerem Hasan leads the Orchestra in Mozart’s graceful and high-spirited “Haffner” Symphony. Trailblazing composer Missy Mazzoli has been called “Brooklyn’s post-millennial Mozart” (Time Out New York), and her mesmerizing double bass concerto, Dark with Excessive Bright, spotlights the artistry of TSO Principal Bass Jeffrey Beecher. Evocative works of Benjamin Britten open and close the program: first, sea-swept sound-paintings from the watershed opera Peter Grimes; then the stunning and viscerally intense Sinfonia da Requiem.
