Conductor Laureate Sir Andrew Davis

Mozart & Rachmaninoff

Wed, Feb 22–Sat, Feb 25, 2023 Roy Thomson Hall

Renowned French-Canadian pianist Louis Lortie performs Mozart’s glorious Piano Concerto No. 23, an awe-inspiring display of Mozartean brilliance written amid an astounding stretch in which masterpiece after masterpiece poured forth as if fully formed. Conductor Laureate Sir Andrew Davis reunites with the TSO for these performances, which feature his own orchestration of Berg’s passionate Piano Sonata. And, nostalgic reveries and exquisitely beautiful melodies take flight in Rachmaninoff’s heartfelt, soul-stirring musical farewell, Symphonic Dances.

There's a free pre-concert performance by the TSO Chamber Soloists before the Wednesday, February 22 performance. See the TSO Chamber Soloists page for more information.
