Classics

Mendelssohn’s Scottish

Fri, Nov 20–Sat, Nov 21, 2026 Roy Thomson Hall
Sun, Nov 22, 2026 George Weston Recital Hall

Spotlight Artist Renaud Capuçon plays and leads a program that begins with the luminous colours of Charlotte Sohy’s rarely heard Thème varié, followed by Robert Schumann’s soulful, long-hidden Violin Concerto brought to life by one of today’s great violinists. Mendelssohn’s “Scottish” Symphony, inspired by the composer’s travels, crowns the concert with its restless energy and stormy drama.

Please note: Beginning in the 2026/27 season, Masterworks will be known as Classics.
