Brahms 2 + Benedetti Plays Marsalis

Wed, May 31–Sat, Jun 3, 2023 Roy Thomson Hall

Stroll through the peaceful, pastoral landscapes of Brahms’s Symphony No. 2, a masterpiece that overflows with gorgeous melodies, and ends in an ecstatic, triumphant roar. Wynton Marsalis’s Violin Concerto is an irresistible fusion of blues, ragtime, and foot-stomping fiddle tradition. It was written expressly for the talents of magnetic Scottish superstar Nicola Benedetti who gives the Canadian Première in these performances.
