Weston Weekends

Beethoven’s Fifth

Sat, Oct 11–Sun, Oct 12, 2025 George Weston Recital Hall

Mozart’s effervescent overture to The Marriage of Figaro provides a delightful introduction to cellist Jaemin Han, who delivers dazzling virtuosity in Tchaikovsky’s Rococo Variations, a sparkling tribute to 18th-century elegance. Carlos Simon’s Fate Now Conquers, inspired by Beethoven’s reflections on destiny, sets the stage for the composer’s Fifth Symphony—featuring the most iconic first four notes in classical music.
