Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto

Danish conductor Thomas Dausgaard, a regular guest of the TSO, returns with a program of outstanding works from the summit of the Romantic era. Deeply rooted in the soil of his beloved homeland, Czech composer Dvořák’s Eighth Symphony offers a feast of lush and spirited melodies. Soloist Vadim Gluzman, whose recordings of Russian music have been hailed as “spellbinding” in BBC Music magazine, ignites all the fireworks of Tchaikovsky’s marvellous Concerto. (Pictured: Vadim Gluzman, violin)

The performance on June 8 has a running time of approximately two hours including a 20-minute intermission. The performance on June 9 will not feature Prelude and Liebstod from Tristan und Isolde, nor intermission, and will have an approximate running time of approximately 90 minutes.
