The Festival gets off to a roaring start with the blazing Piano Concerto by Icelandic composer Daníel Bjarnason. Also on the bill is the latest symphony by American composer Larry Alan Smith. The concert leads off with a piece by JUNO Award–winning Canadian composer Vivian Fung that she describes as “full of raw and intense energy.” (Pictured: Víkingur Ólafsson, piano)
