Pulcinella

The TSO played with virtuosity, and Gimeno led them with both energy and finesse.
The Toronto Symphony Orchestra holds a special connection to Stravinsky, having hosted his final conducting appearance in a performance of Pulcinella. Paired with The Fairy’s Kiss, Stravinsky’s heartfelt homage to his childhood hero, Tchaikovsky, these two works showcase the composer’s genius for reinvention—turning past influences into strikingly original music. Now, under the baton of Gustavo Gimeno, the TSO offers a fresh and vibrant interpretation of these masterpieces in an all-new recording, featuring the World Première recording of a TSO commission by Canadian composer Kelly-Marie Murphy.
