The Orchestra’s 90th season fundraising gala raises more than $650,000
June 4, 2012 – Celebrate 90, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra's special 90th season fundraising event brought luminaries from Toronto’s arts and business communities to celebrate the Orchestra’s achievements and salute its vision for the future. Chaired by Leanne Lewis, the event exceeded its fundraising goal, raising more than $650,000 for the TSO.
The Celebrate 90 event marked 90 seasons of the TSO. The highlight of the evening was a performance by the world-renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma performing with the TSO under the direction of TSO Music Director Peter Oundjian. The TSO’s bold 90th season programming has been incredibly successful, attracting strong positive audience response to performances at Roy Thomson Hall. Upcoming in the TSO’s 90th Season is TSO Goes Late Night: Shostakovich 11 (presented in partnership with Luminato on June 9), Mahler Symphony No. 8, the epic “Symphony of a Thousand” (June 13 & 14), and a free-outdoor concert presented by Luminato at David Pecaut Square (June 17).
