Young People's Concerts

Young People's Concerts are the perfect introduction to symphonic music for children aged 5 to 12.

This series of five one-hour concerts on Saturday afternoons features the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and their guest artists in Roy Thomson Hall.

Concerts are performed twice, at 1:30 and 3:30 pm and offer an enjoyable musical experience for young people and their parents or grandparents!

In this children’s concert, a bugle-playing mime and a tap dancing ballerina are two zany characters who bring "the art of listening" to life. This exciting programme includes excerpts from Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake and John Williams’ Star Wars.

This special Young People’s Concert is based on Roald Dahl’s Revolting Rhymes, and features actors, puppets, and a 60-foot-tall beanstalk!

Roald Dahl is one of the most prolific children’s authors of all time. His works include Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The Big Friendly Giant, Matilda, and James and the Giant Peach.

Buckle up your dancing shoes and get ready for a toe-tapping percussion concerto for the feet! Toronto Symphony favourite Rob Kapilow returns with a concert of unexpected instruments, including a typewriter and paper bags, and featuring master tap dancer Ayodele Casel.

The Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra is the perfect way to introduce musical instruments to your family. Alain Trudel will conduct the Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra while TSO Music Director Peter Oundjian narrates this unforgettable classic.
