Young People's Concerts

Young People's Concerts are the perfect introduction to symphonic music for children aged 5 to 12.

This series of five one-hour concerts on Saturday afternoons features the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and their guest artists in Roy Thomson Hall.

Concerts are performed twice, at 1:30 and 3:30 pm and offer an enjoyable musical experience for young people and their parents or grandparents!

The classically trained PROJECT Trio makes music hip for audiences of all ages! With over 66 million YouTube hits and appearances on popular TV shows, such as MTV, PROJECT Trio has been delighting audiences around the world.

Come for: This concert will feature a variety of music - from well-known classical favourites, to rock, jazz, and even beatbox!

And more: PROJECT Trio and the TSO will bring whole new meaning to the term "symphonic music".

Fairy tales will spring to life in exciting new ways through music and dance with Rob Kapilow, New York's PickleShoes Dance Company, and you.

Come for: Fairy tales old and new.

And more: You'll get a chance to try hand-jiving, and a few lucky volunteers will get a chance to go onstage to do a broom and rag dance, or even take a bath with royal attendants!

As our Canadian athletes participate in the 2014 Winter Olympics, the instruments of the orchestra are also in training. They will be competing at the prestigious Orchestra Games, and your family is invited to witness the events.

Come for: From the ceremonial introduction to the low note limbo, from the fast note dash to the marathon, you will be drawn into the excitement of the original Orchestra Olympics.

From the acclaimed creators of Beethoven Lives Upstairs comes the charming story of Tchaikovsky, the great Russian composer, and his trip to America for the opening of New York's Carnegie Hall in 1891. Through a surprise encounter with a young American girl, Jennie, we learn a great deal about this great master and his life in Russia.
