2012.2013 Season
Tchaikovsky Spectacular
Ainārs Rubiķis,
conductor
A programme of ballet and symphonic gems highlights the musical genius of Tchaikovsky. His first symphony displays all the hallmarks of his mature style: melody, colour, and surging emotion. Pianist Alon Goldstein, praised by The New York Times for an "irresistible powerhouse performance," takes the spotlight for the mighty Concerto No. 2. In a celebration of musical mentorship, the TSYO joins the TSO onstage for the opening work.
Pre-concert chat in the North Lobby with Rick Phillips on Dec. 5 at 7:15pm
