Dvořák Symphony 8
Karen Gomyo,
violin
Revel in the sparkling, sultry sketches that Ravel and Lalo, two French composers with Spanish roots, made of their sun-drenched ancestral homeland. Violinist Karen Gomyo, whom the Chicago Tribune described as "a first-rate artist of real musical command, vitality, and intensity," joins the TSO in Lalo's diverting Spanish Symphony. Dvořák's Eighth Symphony, which echoes with the Czech countryside's tender songs and lively dances, is the final ingredient.
