2011.2012 Season
Opening Weekend: Christopher Plummer in Walton's Henry V
Christopher Plummer,
narrator
Legendary actor Christopher Plummer gives the season a stirring launch, commanding the stage of Roy Thomson Hall as he brings Shakespeare's warrior king vibrantly to life. The Shakespearean theme continues with Tchaikovsky's riveting evocation of the tragic romance between the "star-crossed lovers" of old Verona, and the world première of Larysa Kuzmenko's piece for children's chorus and orchestra, with text from
A Midsummer Night's Dream.
Stay after the concert for an audience-wide party in the lobby featuring The Heavyweights Brass Band!
