The gifted and enormously popular Chinese composer Tan Dun, who made a deep impression during the 2009 New Creations Festival, conducts a captivating concert featuring his own imaginative concertos for unusual solo instruments: ones that interact with water; and ones that are made from paper.

The May 28th Casual Concert is performed with an intermission and is followed by a party for the whole audience in the lobby. Mingle with TSO musicians and guest artists in a relaxed setting and enjoy live music by local bands.

  • Tan Dun, conductor
  • Beibei Wang, lead water and paper percussionist
  • Chenchu Rong, water and paper percussionist
  • Xinru Zhang, water and paper percussionist
