The TSO brings two top-notch soloists to this 100th
birthday party of Samuel Barber, one of America’s finest
composers. Barber’s haunting Adagio for Strings, heard
on the soundtracks of Platoon, The Elephant Man, and
other films, and his First Symphony complete the portrait.
