2009.2010 Season
Sibelius Festival III
Pekka Kuusisto,
violin
The Sibelius Festival concludes with the three towering final works. The Fifth offers a vast outpouring of heroic energy, while Sibelius coloured the Sixth with pastel tints and bathed it in gentle melancholy. He concludes his symphonic journey with the Seventh, which achieves monumental grandeur within a concise timeframe.
On April 22 at 7:15pm, join Rick Phillips for a relaxed and enlightening discussion about the performance, with a Pre-Concert Chat in the lobby.
